STUDLEY, Secretary <br /> MERWIN STURGIS <br /> MARIE GRIFFIN <br /> JAMES GAFFNEY <br /> Report of the Shellfish Constable <br /> To the Honorable Board of Selectmen and the <br /> Citizens of the Town of Mashpee, Mass. <br /> I hereby submit my report for the year ending December <br /> 31, 1971. <br /> We had a very poor year for scallops in Popponesset Bay <br /> and Waquoit Bay. <br /> The clams seem to be very good in the area just opened <br /> for fishing. <br /> The quahogs are better this year. <br /> The oyster beds were opened November 28th through <br /> December 5th. One ten quart pail was allowed to each fisher- <br /> man. <br /> 18 violators were given warnings on Shellfishing. <br /> 4 were arrested and fined. <br /> Shellfish Permits <br /> Non-Resident 127 @ $5.00 $635.00 <br /> Resident 503 @ 2.00 1,006.00 <br /> Commercial 14 @ 15.00 210.00 <br /> $1,851.00 <br /> I want to thank my deputies and all the fishermen for <br /> their assistance and fine cooperation. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> KENNETH J.
