16
Report of the Board of Health
To the Honorable,Board of Selectmen
and Citizens of Mashpee:
{ The Board of Health offered the Town the services of profes-
:i sional care, nursing facilities, sanitation, immunization and clinics.
Our nursing service with the Barnstable Nursing Association
will terminate this year. It has been a,pleasure working with them
and we appreciate the cooperation and interest which they ex-
tended over the number of years to our Town. We will be affili-
ated in the future with the Falmouth Nursing Association and look
forward to a successful year under their supervision.
Dr. Robert A. Riley, of Osterville, Mass. was the dentist this
year and it is with regret that our dental program was not a com-
plete success due to the parents not taking their children to the
dentist.
Well-child clinics and immunizations programs were offered
by our visiting nurse and Dr. Hutchins F. Inge which proved to be
j a success.
The Town this year experienced a rapid growth in develop-
ments. Additional stress was applied by the Board to insure proper
sanitation and other installations. The increased demand for li-
censes and permits has doubled the work-load of this Board.
The disposal area was maintained and controlled under the
surveillance of our custodians. The area received care daily by
bulldozing, thereby offering the most possible areas for dumping.
The Board is planning an accelerated sanitation health pro-
i
gram for the ensuing year. Also, this year has opened new horizons
and new phases of health such as Medicare, State and Federal
Health and Mental programs.
The Board of Health members, secretary and disposal area
staff wish to express our appreciation and gratitude to all who
assisted and co-operated in this year's programs.
Respectfully submitted,
i
E. EDWARD LASHLEY, Chairman
HARRIET DALY, Clerk
CURTIS HENDRICKS, Agent
Board of Health
y
i
