Many cases are disposed of in
court on arraignment, which only rarely involves the Prosecutor.
Aside from occasional arraignment assistance the Prosecutor repre-
sented the Town at five hearings to determine whether or not a
complaint should issue, reviewed and successfully responded to
jseven pre-trial motions and assisted with warrants and technical
i
police questions prior to arrests on three occasions.
Of those people arrested in 1972, ninety-four (94) were as-
j signed for trial. (Twenty-five of these involved two multiple arrest
k anti-noise violations.) As to these 94, 142 charges were brought
to trial.
1 They break down as follows:
Nob
Trials Convictions Guilty Other
I
Leaving the scene of 3 2 1
an accident
j Operating under the 12 10 1 1 default
influence of liquor
1"dismissed
Drunk 18 14 2 1 continued
without finding
Larceny—Over 100 8 8
under 100 6 6
jReceiving
Istolen property 2 2
Speeding 10 9 1
Operating to
Endanger 5 5
f2 1 1
Attempts
