I
t
i
50
TRICT, is presently owned. by the Town of Mashpee. There are
I' five families dwelling in the area at this time. It is not the intention
of the Historic Commission to attempt to change their manner of
life or to inconvenience these families, but merely a necessary step
j' which is required to enhance and preserve the quaint characteristics
t of Mashpee, which are rapidly changing.
We are looking forward to a most exciting 1973-1974.
II
1' Respectfully yours,
Mashpee Historical Commission
AMELIA G. Alper in an informal presentation, held in the Town Hall lobby.
'i The gift is an area of about 32 acres on John's Pond.
i During 1972 the Wetlands Protection Act was passed. This
Act combines the Hatch Act and the Jones Act, thus placing con-
siderable responsibility on your Commission.
We wish to express our thanks to all the Town Officials who
helped make this a productive year. Our particular thanks go to
Mr. Elio Oliva who has frequently assisted us.
Respectfully submitted,
Mashpee Conservation Commission
WILLIAM W.
