41
with ambulance runs, and will eventually take over complete
responsibility of the ambulance. This service alone, will re-
quire training and the hiring of more men under provisions
of the new "Ambulance Law" which takes effect on July 1,
1975, stating that ambulance crews will be school trained and
qualified by passing a "National Registry Examination."
Now a little about what we are asking for this year. First
we are asking for the hiring of (4) four additional Firefight-
ers to adequately man the station and perform the duties
that are required of us in this up and growing town. We are
also asking for the purchase of a Four-wheel Drive Pickup !
Truck with a skid mount pump and tank. This truck with
pump and tank mounted could be used as first responding !
truck at grass and small brush fires. In the winter months
the pump and tank will be removed and the truck will be
reverted to a general purpose truck. This could be anything
from transportation of men and equipment to and from fires
to making inspections when a larger truck is not necessary.
I wish to thank the men, both Permanent and Call Fire-
fighters for their cooperation and dedication to the Depart-
ment and its mission. Also Chiefs and members of other
towns on the Cape which have from time to time responded
to our call for assistance, along with my thanks and grati-
tude to the townspeople, officials, and other departments
that have been so helpful during the past year.
Respectfully submitted,
WARREN M. HICKS,
Fire Chief
i
J
!
