57
Activities of the
Mashpee Senior Citizens Club
May we thank the Council, who was successful in obtain-
ing the land asked for in the Article in the Warrant at the I
Special Town Meeting for the Senior Citizens. We hope that
a building to hold our meetings will be forthcoming. A build-
ing has become necessary due to the fact that the member- j
ship has increased to 1.50. We are fast outgrowing our pres-
ent meeting place. This is due to our more interesting and
varied programs. Our guest speakers have been Dennis Police
Chief Cataldo, on crime, Lt. Marty. Dillian, Otis Air Force
Base, on Coast Guard Rescues and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jan-
nuzi, who showed slides and shared their experiences while
in India.
We have had a square dance which was well attended.
I
There is a used book table where members can purchase
books and magazines at a low cost. We had a delightful
tour to Sturbridge Village last fall, also a hobby exhibit of
articles made by the members, and a gala Christmas•party.
The club feels that there are many benefits available
to the Senior Citizens but they are not aware of how or where
to obtain them. We have hopes that the Council will be more
helpful.
Respectfully submitted,
WILLIAM H. C: LEHMANN, Chmn.
DOROTHY HARRIS, President 4
MARION HENDRICKS, Secretary
i
i
I
— I
