We had a very poor year for scallops in Popponesset
Bay and Waquoit Bay.
The Clams seem to be very good in the area opened for
fishing.
The Quahogs are better this year.
The Oyster Beds were opened November 28th through
December 5th under supervision. One ten quart pail was
allowed to each fisherman.
Fifteen violaters were given warnings on shellfishing,
three were arrested and fined.
J SHELLFISH PERMITS
Non-residents 51 @ $ 7.00 $ 357.00
Residents 478 @ 3.00 1,434.00
i
Commercial 8 @ 15.00 120.00
$1,911.00
I want to thank my deputies and the fishermen for their
assistance and fine cooperation.
Respectfully submitted,
KENNETH J.
