65
Mr. Mead and his associates started work immediately;
has now completed his review of the specifications with each
of the three departments concerned, and using the topo-
graphic survey, is now developing the best layout and orien-
tation of the proposed buildings.
This is the current status of the three primary projects.
Special Note:
It has been brought to the attention of the Committee
that amounts of money which purport to be the costs of
completing these projects are being verbally circulated in
Town. The source of these rumors is not known. Contrary
to these rumors the Committee cannot yet with any degree
of accuracy, determine such costs; nor will it be possible to
do so until the architectural plans are sufficiently developed
and the type of construction has been decided.
The Committee is very conscious that the present lack of
adequate facilities is a severe handicap to efficient municipal
services, but at the same time it is realized that itis the rapid
development of our Town which is creating the urgency for
achievement. In making these recommendations on the fi-
nancing of the necessary projects, the Committee will ensure
that the burden of the costs are equally distributed over the
years, which are creating the major part of the requirement.
Respectfully submitted,
Members: PATRICIA L. GREEN, Vice Chairman
GEORGE BENWAY, Co-chairman
HAZEL OAKLEY
s AMELIA MILLER
FLORENCE LUCAS
JAMES BAIN
JOHN D.
