99
properly, and hope that I will be able to do so in the near
future. Callmen are a very important and necessary part of
the department and I would at this time extend my appre-
ciation and gratitude to those men who are always ready
to drop whatever they are doing, and respond at a time of
need.
To sum up this report, I must acknowledge that without
a lot of help and cooperation from many persons, it would
be very difficult to do a respectable job in any department.
I have been fortunate in that respect, with help, assistance
and encouragement from the men in my department, from
other Town departments and officials plus a great deal of
help from other fire departments in the. area. Just, about
every neighboring department-has contributed information
and ideas to our department, and a special thanks to. Chief
Peck and his men-in the Falmouth Fire Department.
Now, if there -is one thing that I have learned, and
would like to pass on to you as voters of the Town it is this:
We all would like to have an adequate and efficient fire
department. In order to have this we need adequate and
proper equipment and supplies. We also need an adequate
number of properly trained firefighters. None of the above
may be obtained without a great deal of money. That is the
key word.
-Respectfully submitted,
WILLIAM W. MILLS,
Fire Chief
i
k
` C
