101 <br /> Report of the Civil Def eme Director <br /> To the Honorable Board of Selectmen <br /> and Citizens of the Town of Mashpee: <br /> During 1974 your director attended sector meetings at <br /> Dennis and participated in test exercise Beaufort 174, the <br /> objective of which was to evaluate the current readiness and <br /> Civil Defense capability of each community to mitigate the <br /> effects on population and property of a hurricane. <br /> A class in First Aid Medical Self-Help and Advanced <br /> First Aid was taught at the Samuel Davis School by David <br /> Consalvi to members of the Fire & Police Departments. <br /> The surplus property program again netted Town de <br /> partments a substantial savings on equipment. <br /> In conjunction with the Flood Insurance program, the <br /> Board of Selectmen appointed your director to work in con- <br /> junction with the Police Chief and George Green, Highway <br /> Surveyor, to co-ordinate information on flooding in specific <br /> areas of the town. During the severe storm of December 2, <br /> 1974 all the beach areas were visited by your director and <br /> Highway Surveyor, Green, accompanied by a photographer. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> HENRY F.
