143 <br /> Report of the Librarian <br /> To the Honorable Board of Selectmen and <br /> the Citizens of the Town of Mashpee: <br /> I hereby submit my report for the year ending December <br /> 1974. <br /> Number Bound Volumes 5,541 <br /> Adults 2,457 <br /> Juveniles 2,261 <br /> Reference books all ages 823 <br /> Total Number Volumes of: <br /> Adult books circulated 211 <br /> Juvenile Books Circulated 197 <br /> Total Books circulated 408 <br /> New books have been purchased as in the past with <br /> Town funds. A new glass display case has been purchased, <br /> also one has been donated to the Library especially. for the <br /> exhibits.we hope to have during the Bicentennial year. Two <br /> new portable primary book wagons were purchased for needed <br /> book space. <br /> The .Library is still a member of the Eastern Regional <br /> System which allows us to borrow books from the Yarmouth- <br /> port Book Depository, at no charge for a period of time, also <br /> we are under the Inter-Library Loan so that books not avail- <br /> able at our library may be loaned from Falmouth or other <br /> regional libraries when available. <br /> Adult book circulation.was up over the past years due <br /> to the many new books and authors that are writing of to- <br /> day's events and also popular fiction and mysteries. <br /> The trustees work very hard and long for the upkeep of <br /> the library, of which they hope to have the inside painted <br /> and other necessary projects completed this spring. With <br /> their permission, .many groups hold their meetings such as <br /> the.V.F.W. and Bicentennial Commission etc., during non- <br /> library hours. <br />
