153 <br /> proven very valuable in keeping dines of communication <br /> open between the school and the, home as-it helps_ to inform <br /> our community of our school activities. - <br /> Due primarily to our introduction of the Individually <br /> Guided Education Program into our school, six senior stu- <br /> dent teachers from Bridgewater State College were sent to <br /> our school for twelve weeks of student teaching under the <br /> supervision of the Director of Teacher Training, Dr. Arthur <br /> Baker; an experience rewarding to teachers, students and <br /> pupils—a privilege we enjoyed and look forward to fulfilling <br /> again. <br /> Our thanks to Mr. Joseph Pistano, concert violinist, of <br /> Sandwich for his outstanding program of chamber music. <br /> Recent reports from the Principals of Lyle Junior High <br /> School and Falmouth High School indicate our pupils are <br /> doing commendable work in the classroom and in extra- <br /> curricular activities. More and more high school students <br /> are attending institutions of higher learning. We commend <br /> the Mashpee P.T.A. and the New Seabury Men's Luncheon <br /> Club for making scholarships available to these worthy <br /> students. <br /> Volunteers: <br /> Doris Barbaredora, Elizabeth Davis, Christine Coleman, <br /> Lynne Kuliga, Debbra Kaminsky and Esther Smith are vol- <br /> unteers, who, during, the year, have given unselfish service, <br /> thus freeing the teachers of many time consuming tasks and <br /> clerical jobs. Their activities were restricted only by their <br /> own personal limitations in any duty that the regular <br /> teacher assigned to them. To them, we are indeed grateful. <br /> Curriculum: <br /> In September, Individually Guided Education, an in- <br /> structional program designed to produce higher educational <br /> achievement, was introduced to our school. In this program <br /> each child is guided to learn at his own rate and in his own <br /> learning style according to his own individual learning abil- <br /> ities, needs and maturity. If he needs to spend more time <br /> learning, a particular skill than others, he has the time he <br /> requires; he is not in competition with others. <br /> As a parent of a child enrolled in our school, you prob- <br /> ably went to know more about the kind of education your <br /> child is now receiving.
