156
Report of the School Nurse
For 1874
To Dr. Anthony D'Antuono, Superintendent,
j The School Committee, and Citizens of the
Town of Mashpee:
As School Nurse in the Town of Mashpee, I am pleased
to submit my annual report.
The school year started in September with a greater
increase of students coming from different sections of the
country, related to the change over at Otis Air Force Base.
I! Physical examinations on new students were given and
no serious defects were found. An early Immunization Clinic
was held as some of these students had not had the neces-
sary immunizations required by state law in Massachusetts.
These clinics were held in October, November and Decem-
ber under the direction of Dr. Hutchins Inge, our school
i, physician.
I
Vision and hearing tests were completed and when
necessary, notices sent home.
With the new state law Chapter 766, more home visits
are required. We have made use of the services and help
available at the Mental Health Center in Pocasset.
The continuation of the Breakfast Program has been a
great help t0 satisfy the needs of so many children who do
not always eat breakfast.
I wish to thank everyone and appreciate the cooper-
ation, help and understanding I have received during the
year.
Respectfully submitted,
THERESA M. CRIMMINS, R.N.
School Nurse
i
