r
REPORT OF THE PRINCIPAL
The annual report of the Samuel G. Davis School is herewith submitted by
the Principal.
ENROLLMENT:
ENROLLMENTS OF MASHPEE STUDENTS er
GRADES K-12, 1971 - 1 75
1971 1972 1973 1974 1975
Total Elementary 222 240 263 282 317
Total Junior High 49 67 84 94 96
I
Total Senior High 76 75 101 134 163
Special Education __ __ _-_ 8 9
i
GRAND TOTAL 347 382 448 518 585
The total enrollment in Grades K-12 in 1971 was 347 pupils. As of
October 1, 1975, the school population has risen to a total of 585, an
increase of 69%.
Enrollment in the junior high school increased 96% in the last five years
with a total of 49 pupils in 1971 and reaching a total of 96 in grades seven and I
eight in 1975.
Enrollment in the Samuel G. Davis School likewise has risen from a
total of 222 pupils in 1971 to a total of 317 students as of October 1, 1975, an
increase of 4316.
These are startling figures to any school committee or school admini-
strator for it raises immediately questions of adequate classroom space,
possible changes in the educational program and additional costs in trans-
portation, personnel and school supplies.
131
