m
In order for the grouping to become successful, we have developed a flexible
form of team teaching. The results have been an improvement in staff utilization,
for team teaching recognizes and encourages individual differences in teachers
as well as students. Extra effort is expanded on planning and preparation, and
teachers teach in their areas of interest and strength.
Music does much to improve the child's self-image and to develop individ-
uality and self esteem; the same may be said of art. This year has been an
outstanding year. In spite of the limited classroom space and lack of desireable l
facilities, our art supervisor, Mrs. Dorothy Fernald and music supervisor,
Mrs. Maureen Enos have done an outstanding job; as has Mrs. Lavada Studley,
instrumental music supervisor, who has worked diligently and successfully I p
with over fifty beginners and second-year students. It is my hope that another 4
day can be budgeted so that each child can have more of her time for individual 4
instruction.
' I
In closing, I wish to express my sincere appreciation to you for your
i
patience and guidance to our School Committee; to our dedicated teachers, to
our school nurse, and to our parents and friends, to our cafeteria and custo-
dial personnel, to the bus drivers, and to all with whom I work for their con-
tinued support and cooperation.
h1
Respectfully submitted, Y
Kenneth Coombs
Principal
133
