SPECIAL TOWN MEETING DECEMBER 2, 1975 The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Barnstable, ss: To the Constable of the Town of Mashpee Greetings: In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby directed to notify and summons the inhabitants of the Town of Mashpee, who are qualified to vote in the elections, to meet at the Town Hall on Tuesday, the second day of December, 1975, at seven o'clock, p.m., for the following purposes: To act on the articles contained in the following warrant: A quorum present, moderator Peter M. Lawrence called the meeting to order at 7:25 p.m. Article 1: To see if the Town will vote to take'from available funds the sum of$800.00 to increase the present Town employees' life insurance from$2,000.00 to $5,000.00; said sum to be applied to the Group Insurance Account, covering the period of January 1 to June 30, 1976. Submitted by the Board of Selectmen. Recommended by the Finance Committee to provide additional term life insur- ance for town employees. ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded that Article 1 be accepted as read. i Article passes. Article 2: To see if the Town will vote to authorizd the Selectmen's Office to hire a full time clerk/typist and to take from available funds to be applied to the Selectmen's Wage Account, the sum of$3,379.20 said sum to represent wages for clerk/typist. Submitted by the Board of Selectmen. Recommended by the Personnel Board. Recommended by Finance Committee in agreement J with the Personnel Board to provide an additional employee to alleviate the I heavy work load in this office. ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded that Article 2 be accepted as read. Article passes. i j Article 3: To see if the Town will vote to take from available funds the sum of-$9,500.00 for equipment and materials to control the pollutant abatement and spring emergent algae in Mashpee lakes and ponds. ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded that Article 3 be accepted as read. y Motion carried. Article 4: To see if the Town will vote to take from available funds the sum Of$1800.00 for the services of a registered engineer and the necessary licensed ,0 applicators needed to take emergency action for control of pollutants in Mashpee lakes and ponds. Submitted by the Board of Selectmen. Not recommended by the Finance Committee as the vote to recommend this article resulted in a tie and, therefore, did not prevail. ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded that Article 4 be accepted as read. Motion carried. 70
