SPECIAL TOWN MEETING <br /> DECEMBER 2, 1975 <br /> Article 5: To see if the Town will vote to take by eminent domain for the <br /> purpose of providing a slope to the highway a parcel of land on the east side of <br /> Great Neck Road, said parcel being shown on a plan of land entitled, "Town of <br /> Mashpee, Plan of Widening of Great Neck Road as laid out by the Selectmen, <br /> Scale: 1" - 40", dated October 29, 1975, Philip D. Holmes, Civil Engineer, <br /> 3 Land Surveyor, 301 Main Street, Falmouth, Mass.," said plan being on file <br /> at the Town Clerks Office and take from available funds the sum of$500.00 <br /> thereof. Submitted by the Board of Selectmen. Recommended by the Finance <br /> Committee as being necessary to the reconstruction of Great Neck Road. <br /> ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded that Article 5 be accepted as read. <br /> Unanimously voted. <br /> Article 6: To see if the Town will vote to take from available funds the <br /> sum ofโ€”$14,500.00 said sum to meet obligations of the Fire Contract. Submitted <br /> by the Board of Selectmen. Recommended by the Finance Committee to provide <br /> the funds to meet the obligations of the new Fire Contract, the correct sum to be <br /> 0 inserted on the Town Meeting floor. <br /> ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded that Article 6 be accepted as read. <br /> Unanimously voted. <br /> Article 7: To see if the Town will vote to take from available funds the <br /> sum cf $45,800.00 (State Funds)for State Aid construction or improvement, <br /> reimbursement received therefrom to be returned to available funds, or take <br /> any other action thereon. Submitted by the Highway Department. Recommended <br /> by the Finance Committee to complete the reconstruction of Great Neck Road and <br /> perform work on Old Barnstable Road and South Sandwich Road. The Finance <br /> Committee also recommends that the article be amended by adding the words <br /> "provided that such work shall be put out to bid by private contractors". <br /> ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded that Article 7 be accepted as read. <br /> Amendment was defeated. 280 for, 57 opposed. Motion carries. ` <br /> Article 8: To see if the Town will vote to appropriate from available funds <br /> the sum of$1,500.00 to establish a "revolving" account for special-training <br /> education, off-duty courses, as called for in the current Police Contract, or take <br /> any other action thereon. Submitted by the Police Department. Recommended <br /> by the Finance Committee with an amendment deleting in line two the words "a <br /> revolving" and inserting in place therein the word "an". <br /> ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to amend Article 8 to read: <br /> Amendment โ€” " an account". Motion carried. <br /> Article 9: To see if the Town will vote to take from available funds the sum <br /> of$2,249.30 for the purchase of two (2) security dogs, trained and miscella- <br />,d neous equipment. Submitted by the Mashpee Police Association. Recommen- <br /> ded by the Finance Committee as requested by members of the Mashpee Police l <br /> Association to assist them in the performance of their duties. <br /> ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded that Article 9 be accepted as read. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Article 10: To see if the Town will vote to take from available funds, the <br /> sum of$โ€” 1,779,00 for the purchase of a fully-equipped vehicle for the two <br /> security dogs.
