REPORT OF THE BOARD OF HEALTH
1975 was a commendable year for the Board of Health. The collec-
tion of old newspapers and magazines at the Disposal Area netted the sum
of$200,00 and the junk metal pile was sold for$260.00. The money was
used to buy equipment for the Fire Department and the Recreation Depart-
ment.
The Board sponsored an influenza clinic for the Senior Citizens and
Town Employees administered by the Falmouth Nursing Association.
Water sampling and testing the Great Ponds of Mashpee was and will
continue to be conducted on a regular basis.
New health regulations were instituted and designed to protect
public health and the environment.
The Board made an effort to develop a closer working relationship
with the other Town Departments. This relationship will eventually provide
added benefits to the Town.
j
Restaurants and Grocery Stores were upgraded throughout the
year and will continue to receive close scrutiny.
The Board will continue to improve procedures designed to pro-
mote public health in environmental matters, nursing and all other areas
I
affecting the well being of citizens in Mashpee.
The Board received a total of$8,745.00 for fees for licensing,
disposal charges, sewage permits, and plumbing permits for fiscal year,
1975.
Respectfully submitted,
Phillip DiIorio, Chairman
Harriett C. Daly
Roland L. Wilson
t
i
ANNUAL REPORT OF THE BICYCLE TRAILS COMMITTEE
To the Honorable Board of Selectmen:
It was anything but a successful year for the Bicycle Trails Committee.
' s There were countless hours spent in Hyannis in conference with the Cape Cod
Planning and Economic Development Commission drawing schematic plans
of a series of trails linking all towns on the Cape. A follow-up application
for funds was sent to Boston, with subsequent denial. Without these funds
there could be no more progress, and the bicycle trails remains just a plan.
i Respectfully submitted,
i
Jerry L. DePalma
Chairman
' Marjorie Romaine
94
i
