I
December 6 1971 {
Dear Resident of Town of Mashpee:
Early in 1971, tie New Seabury Corporation was making
plans to build its first condominiums in Section 9, located
between High Wood and Popponesset Village. (This area is
enclosed by a heavy black line on the right hand portion of
your map. )
This proposal met with something less than an enthusi-
astic response from the Popponesset and New Seabury
residents . After considerable study between the Peninsula
Council, the Popponesset Association and New Seabury Corp-
oration, it was agreed that the best solution would be to
transfer 80 units from Section 9 to the western part of New
Seabury, leaving only 30 dwelling units in Section 9 between
High Wood and Popponesset . The 80 dwelling units being
taken away from High Wood would be added to the 1547 units
already existing under present zoning, thereby making a total
of 1627 dwelling units as shown in the combined section on
your map.
It is important to note that Article 15 does not in any t
way change the unit or commercial densities already existing
in New Seabury. It only moves 80 units presently in High
Wood to the western part of the community.
i I
Very truly yours , ¢
PENINSULA COUN , INC.
MEN'S CLUB OF NEW SEABURY 6
VOTE "YES" ON ARTICLE 15.
I i
