Meizinger to terminate the management of the Town's Housing Assistance Program,
give all participants two months' notice of the end of the program, and notify the
Town's Community Preservation Committee of the decision. The motion carried
unanimously. Mrs. Botsford stated that she will take care of the notifications.
c) Bank Account signatories & Debit Card: Mrs. Botsford stated that she would need to be
removed from all bank accounts as an authorized signatory as of September 30 and Mrs.
Campos should be added. In addition, Mrs. Botsford is currently a co-signing on two
credits cards—one for Mashpee Housing Authority and one for Asher's Path Apartments
—and wants to terminate those cards. All agreed that this was a good idea, and a motion
was made by Kevin Shackett and seconded by Richard Halpern to remove Mrs.
Botsford and add Mrs. Campos as an authorized signer on all housing authority
bank accounts as of October 1, 2020. The motion carried unanimously. A motion
was made by Kevin Shackett and seconded by Lisa Meizinger to approve Mrs.
Campos to apply for debit cards for use at Mashpee Housing Authority and Asher's
Path Apartments. The motion carried unanimously.
d) Executive Director final payout—Vacation& Sick Time: Mrs. Botsford provided
members with a report on her unused sick and vacation time. Per the Personnel Policy,
upon retirement she is entitled to 20% of unused sick time and all of her vacation time.
She has several hours of sick and vacation time. Although she plans on taking a few
hours vacation time, there could still be a potential of 45.75 hours of sick time payout and
a maximum of 209 vacation hours at the end of September that would be paid to her. A
motion was made by Lisa Meizinger and seconded by Kevin Shackett to approve
payout to Mrs. Botsford for 20% of unused sick time and 100% of unused vacation
time at the end of September for a maximum of 254.75 combined hours. The motion
carried unanimously. The board then thanked Mrs. Botsford for her many years of
service.
OTHER BUSINESS: Mr. Halpern thanked the Committee for all of their hard work
throughout this process. Ms. Meizinger stated that Ms. Mitchell was absolutely the best fit and
has a good vision for the housing authority going forward. Mr. Halpern asked how things were
going with Carver. Mrs. Botsford stated that they had gotten a little better, but there were still
some challenges. Ms. Allen mentioned that the board would still be behind a decision to
terminate that contract if things weren't going well. Mrs. Botsford stated that she would leave
that determination up to Ms. Mitchell after she has had an opportunity to experience things for
herself but reminded the board that releasing from that contract will mean cuts to staff salaries.
CORRESPONDENCE/COMMUNICATIONS: none that hasn't already been mentioned.
NEXT MEETING DATE/TIME: The next meeting will be scheduled for Thursday, October
8, 2020 at 5:00 PM.
MEETING ADJOURNMENT: A motion was made by Kevin Shackett and seconded by
Lisa Meizinger to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried unanimously. The meeting
adjourned at 5:55pm.
