105
e During these years he was always kind and considerate of
S pupils and teachers. We all hope his health improves.
e The stoker that was installed with the boiler when the
a school was built in 1939 has caused considerable trouble dur-
ing the past two or three years. It finally broke down al-
Y together. To repair it was a costly matter. It seemed wise
e to change the heating plant from coal to oil-burning equip-
e ment. This was made possible through a special appropria-
tion at the last town meeting. The change is proving very
effective. Thus far, we have had no difficulty in heating and
h no "slow-downs" because it is too cold to do effective work.
The installation of this equipment has also made it possible
s for the custodian to devote more time to cleaning and other
maintenance work. This he is doing in a very fine manner.
e
o A school superintendent is indebted to many persons
e for carrying on a successful educational program. He needs
an earnest school committee who formulate sound policies,
d efficient and devoted teachers, meticulous custodians, willing
f students, and co-operative parents. These I have had, and
to them I express my gratitude for their support and help
during the past twenty-nine years.
'.I
Respectfully submitted,
1 JAMES F. PEEBLES,
Superintendent of Schools
t I
r
F.
