59 <br /> The Moderator proceeded with the articles as follows: <br /> Article 1. To choose all necessary Town Officials which <br /> are not elected under the Australian Ballot System. <br /> The following officers were chosen for the ensuing year: <br /> Sealer of Weights and Measures Horace T. Gifford <br /> Burial Agent Edwin L. White <br /> Herring Warden George E. Avant <br /> Farm Bureau Directors (2) William Lopez <br /> Violet Peters <br /> Fence Viewers (2) George Perlot <br /> Edwin L. White <br /> Harbor Master John Moore, Jr. <br /> Finance Committee (5) Miriam P. Lopes <br /> Clara J. Peters <br /> Robert Johnson <br /> Irving Edwards <br /> Gordon Green <br /> Action: Upon motion duly made and seconded it was <br /> voted to accept article as read. <br /> Unanimous vote. <br /> Article 2. To see if the Town will vote to accept the <br /> Town Officers' Reports. <br /> Action: Upon motion duly made and seconded it was <br /> voted to accept the article as read. <br /> Unanimous vote. <br /> Article 3. To see if the Town will hear and act upon the <br /> reports of any committees hereto chosen, or appoint com- <br /> mittees for any purpose the Town may deem advisable or take <br /> any other action thereon. <br /> The first committee to report was the Memorial Com- <br /> mittee. Mrs. Mabel L. Avant spoke briefly, saying that a <br /> suitable Memorial had been erected for the boys lost in World <br /> c <br /> War II with a suitable program on Memorial Day 1954. <br /> The second committee to report was the Town Landing <br /> Committee, represented by Mr. Carl A. Avant who said that <br /> there were articles in the warrant to be voted upon, per- <br /> taining to the taking of said parcels, for landing purposes, <br /> etc. <br />
