87 <br /> Special Town Meeting Warrant <br /> May 24th, 1955 <br /> BARNSTABLE SS: To the Constable of the Town of Mashpee, <br /> GREETINGS: <br /> In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you <br /> are hereby directed to notify and summons the inhabitants <br /> of the Town of Mashpee, who are qualified to vote in elections, <br /> to meet at the Town Hall on Tuesday, the 24th day of May <br /> 1955, at 7:30 p.m. for the following purpose: To act on the <br /> articles contained in the following warrant: <br /> Constable Ellsworth Peters brought the Warrant to the <br /> Town Clerk at 7:30 p.m. <br /> Mrs. Martha Edwards opened the meeting with a prayer <br /> at the request of Moderator, Mrs. Theresa Barco Johnson. <br /> Tellers: Miss Lucinda Hicks and Mrs. Neota Davenport. <br /> Tellers count of registered voters at beginning of meet- <br /> ing: 30. <br /> Moderator Theresa B. Johnson proceeded to read the <br /> warrant and start the business meeting. <br /> Article 1. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate <br /> from available funds in the treasury the sum of $1,000.00 <br /> for Legal and Engineering expense. <br /> Action: Upon motion duly made and seconded it was <br /> voted to accept article as read: VOTE 27 None opposed. <br /> Article 2. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate 4. <br /> from available funds in the treasury the sum of $2,133.34 <br /> for salary of full-time Chief of the Fire Department (Salary <br /> effective as of 1 May 55). <br /> Action: Upon motion duly made and seconded it was <br /> voted to accept article as read.
