I <br /> 26 <br /> j <br /> i <br /> Report of the Highway Surveyor <br /> To the Honorable Board of Selectmen <br /> and citizens of the Town of Mashpee: <br /> I herewith submit my annual report as Highway Surveyor <br /> for the year ending December 31, 1956. The usual mainten- <br /> ance work was accomplished. Most of the work was done by <br /> a Roadgrader which was purchased in June. <br /> Sections of the following roads were surface treated <br /> under Chapter 81 contract: Pimlico Pond, Cotuit, South <br /> Sandwich, Great Neck, Collins Lane, Orchard Rd., Old Mill <br /> and Peters Pond Road. <br /> A portion of the Highway General appropriation was used <br /> to supplement Chapter 81. Under Chapter 90 Maintenance, <br /> 5,134 feet of Ashumet Road was surface treated. Waquoit cut- <br /> off shoulder (Rt. 15.1) was repaired where necessary. The por- <br /> tion of Monomoscoy Road commencing at Redbrook Road <br /> and extending across the viaduct, was widened, straightened, <br /> hardened, and graveled. A new pipe was placed in Dutchman <br /> Brook and the shoulder graded. Under Chapter 90 Con- <br /> struction, work was continued on Great Neck. Road, with <br /> 6,610 feet graded and hardened and 3,850 feet completed: <br /> 2,760, feet was graded, hardened and a base coarse IY2" thick <br /> applied. Work will be completed next spring. Work has been <br /> started on Cotuit Road. <br /> Necessary wideningwas made on the following Town <br /> Rds.: 30 ft. at Peters Pond Rd., Quashnet Rd. and one end of <br /> Lovell's Lane. <br /> 1 ' <br /> i <br /> l <br /> � i <br />
