I
42
one truck must be replaced if we want dependable protection,
I This truck is thirty years old with very poor brakes and an
engine that is sure to fail under pressure, parts are no longer
available and it's not advisable to spend anything on this
truck. As it requires six,to eight months to get a replacement
we must not permit any unnecessary delay. In these unsettled
times I believe we should be prepared for any disasters
whether they be natural or other, as far as our means will
permit. Although there is a good Mutual Aid system on the
Cape we can not depend on others unless we are willing to
help ourself. There is no substitute for fire protection and it
is to our advantage to be prepared. At this time I wish to
thank the Town- Officials and residents of the Town of
Mashpee for their co-operation.
j
Respectfully submitted,
ELLSWORTH F. PETERS
Fire Chief
I
i
i
i
