91
4. In February, Dr. Fred L. Moore gave 7 booster doses of
triple, antigen to 6 first graders and one second grader.
All the children in the school, with the exc,3ption of 7,
have received 2 doses of Salk vaccine. This is an excel-
lent percentage.
In May, Mrs. Alice Dalzell, County Dental Hygienist, ap-
plied sodium fluoride to the teeth of 14 children in the 7, 10,
and 13-year age groups. During this same time, Mrs. Dalzell
inspected the teeth of 54 children. There is a tremendous
amount of dental care needed. The mothers showed their
apprciation of this service by readily signing the permission
slips.
There were no epidemics of disease and very little impe-
tigo during the year. The mothers are eager to obtain bet-
ter health for their children and freely seek informaton from
the nurse. In most instances it is lack of finances that prevent
the parents from attending to medical and dental needs.
It has been a pleasure to work with you, Mr. Graves. I
appreciate your interest and co-operation and hope when
Miss Moller joins our staff in February we will be able to
spend more time in the school and give more service.
Mr. Coombs and the teachers have been most friendly and'
helpful and have assisted in the health program to the fullest.
Respectfully submitted,
MARGUERITE T. KENDALL, R.N.
Public Health Nurse
i
Eli
