6 <br /> 26 <br /> w <br />{ <br />;j <br /> Report of the Fire Chief <br /> To the Honorable Board of Selectmen <br /> Mashpee, Massachusetts <br /> I hereby submit my report for the year ending December <br /> 31, 1957. <br /> The following is a breakdown of the (55) calls made <br /> during the year. <br /> Brush fires 22 <br /> House Fires 5 <br /> l Dump fires 4 <br /> 'i Car fires 3 <br /> Reports of fires 6 <br /> Plane crashes 2 <br /> First-aid and rescue 11 <br /> False alarms 1 <br /> Inspection and Permits issued <br /> i <br /> ` L.P. Gas 120 <br /> Oil 17 <br /> Gas Station 6 <br /> Oil Storage 2 <br /> I am pleased to report that the loss in buildings and car <br /> fires was low with the exception of one camp loss. The delay <br /> in calling resulted in a total loss of that building. <br /> I would like to inform all residents of this town that <br /> there has been some confusion about who and where to call <br /> in case of fire. There is only one telephone on twenty-four <br /> (24) hour service and that is the Mashpee Fire Department <br /> number GA 8-2463. It is impossible to get prompt service <br /> otherwise as all trucks are dispatched from this station.
