27
Report of the Harbor Master
To the Honorable Board of Selectmen:
The entrance to Waquoit Bay, and Little River was
dredged during the summer of 1958. The channel enters from
Waquoit Bay-and is one hundred feet wide up to the vicinity
of Warren's Point. It then proceeds up Little River for ap-
proximately one half mile with a width of sixty feet. The
water depth is approximately four feet at mean low water.
Four large Navy mooring buoys were obtained to mark
the Waquoit Bay end and smaller buoys were purchased for
the Little River section. A set of spar buoys have been made
for winter use. All buoys have reflectors for better night
visibility.
To prevent damage to markers only a few were placed
during the past season as the dredge equipment was not re-
moved until fall.
A spar buoy was placed approximately one hundred feet
south of Popponesset Rock.
Respectfully submitted,
JOHN A. MOORE,
Harbor Master
