{ 28 <br /> :i <br /> Report of the Public Health Nurse <br /> ji <br /> To the Honorable Board of Selectmen and the <br /> Citizens of the Town of Mashpee <br /> The Falmouth Nursing Association is starting its 4th year <br /> of nursing service to the Town of Mashpee. As we appraise <br /> the program, we ask ourselves whether we are adequately <br /> answering the needs of the town, in so far as we can be of <br /> service. A good nursing service instructs patients how to care <br /> for themselves, teaches patients and families what good <br /> health is and how to maintain it. <br />�s <br /> ' A detailed report of the school health service is included <br /> i in Mr. Graves' report. <br /> A successful Well Child Conference was conducted by Dr. . <br /> Alfred Senft. This was financed by the County Health Depart- <br /> s ` ment. Dr. Fred Moore of the department has arranged for <br /> two Well Child Conferences in 1959. Many mothers ask for this <br /> 4 <br /> service. <br /> Dr. Moore conducted four immunization clinics. Attend- <br /> ance was excellent with the mothers showing interest in the <br /> Y�. " preventive aspect of the health program. Fifty-two polio <br /> Y injections were given to adults at these sessions. <br /> ,i <br /> The dental program is progressing satisfactorily. New <br /> a i policies have been formulated and are included in the report <br /> v ' of the Board of Health. Drs. Charles Wolfe and George De- <br /> Mello of Falmouth, as a dental advisory committee, have <br /> 1 � given much time and thought in planning a sound dental <br />'} v' program. Next year, the services of the clinic will be available <br /> to the children when they reach the age of five. <br /> Mrs. Alice Dalzell, County Dental Hygienist, applied fluo- <br /> ride to the children's teeth in the 7, 10 and 13 age group.
