With this change, <br /> all materials including newspaper, paper, magazines, cardboard, plastics, glass, and metal cans <br /> can now be recycled together in one container instead of separating it into 9 different containers. <br /> Recycling at the Transfer Station saw a slight increase from 2008 (1%). Approximately 2,050 <br /> tons of materials were collected (general recyclables, yard waste, and bulky waste only). At the DPW, residents or <br /> property owners can exchange their mercury thermometers for digital thermometers (program <br /> funded through SEMASS), their mercury thermostats for digital thermostats (program funded <br /> through SEMASS), purchase recycling and compost bins at a reduced price, and dispose of their <br /> medical sharps (containers provided at no cost; program funded through the Barnstable County <br /> Extension Service). <br /> A complete list of the materials accepted at the Transfer Station can be found on the Town's web <br /> page at www.ci.mashpee.ma.us. <br /> Cemetery: <br /> In 2009, 29 plots and I niche in the columbarium were sold at Great Neck Woods Cemetery. <br /> Eleven interments were held. <br /> 156 <br />
