Motion made to indefinitely postpone Motion to 'indefinitely postpone passes at 8-.31 PM. Article 27 To see if the Town of Mashpee will petition the General Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to pass the followi,n Act affecting part-time elected officer's health and life insurance benefits and any other paid benefits that the Town of Mashpee (including School Department, Water Department and any other branches of Government that are and in the future part of the Town of Mashpee) has or plans to contribute Said Act to be inserted in the Revised General Bylaws or Charter of the Town. of Mashpee, and to read as follows: "Be it enacted as follows: Notwithstanding the provision of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 32B, part- time elected officials of the Town of Mashpee who receive a salary or a stipend shall not be eligible for participation in the Town's contributory health and life insurance plan, except those part-time officials who were elected prior to July, 2007 and currently participate in said plan shall be eligible to continue to so participate until the end of their current term. Part-time elected officials who receive a salary or a stipend who elect to pay one hundred per cent of the cost of the Town's health and life insurance benefit plan, plus any administrative cost that maybe assessed by the Board of Selectmen, may be deemed eligible to so participate." Submitted by Petition The Board of Selectmen does not recommend approval by a vote of 4-1. The Finance Committee recommends approval 6-0.
