8 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 8, 2021 <br /> APPOINTMENTS& HEARINGS <br /> Discussion and Approval of Revised Order of Taking for 226 Cotuit Road: DPW Director Catherine Laurent: <br /> Acting on the recommendation of Town Counsel, Catherine Laurent, Director of Public Works requested the <br /> Board re-vote on the Order of Taking for a portion of the property at 226 Cotuit Road. It was noted the <br /> finalization of the taking was delayed to avoid complications by a bankruptcy proceeding involving the <br /> property owner. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Sherman to re-vote to re-approve the Revised Order of Taking for 226 Cotuit <br /> Road as recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Gottlieb. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, absent for vote Selectman Sherman, yes <br /> Selectman Gottlieb, yes Selectman Weeden, yes Opposed, none <br /> Discussion and Approval of Acceptance of Resignation from the Board of Health <br /> Member-at-Large (Term Expires:June 30, 2023): Veronica Warden: <br /> Correspondence was received from Veronica Warden dated February 24, 2021 resigning from the Board of <br /> Health effective March 31, 2021. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to accept with regret the resignation of Veronica Warden from the <br /> Board of Health sending a letter of appreciation to Ms. Warden for her service to the Town of Mashpee, <br /> and further duly post the vacancy. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Sherman. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Sherman, yes <br /> Selectman Gottlieb, yes Selectman Weeden, yes Opposed, none <br /> At the last meeting the Board of Selectmen agreed to obtain feedback from those resigning from a <br /> respective board, commission or committee to improve upon processes. <br /> COMMUNICATIONS&CORRESPONDENCE <br /> PFAS in Water Samples: <br /> In response to any inquiry from the public regarding a recent article on PFAS substances, fluorinated <br /> compounds in Mashpee waters that were previously undetected, it was affirmed the Town is providing <br /> water to meet all state and federal requirements. PFAS compounds have been identified in firefighting foam <br /> applications from the base and are used in many products such as non-stick cookware, cleaning products <br /> and stain and water repellent upholstery fabrics. The Mashpee Water District (MWD) is available for <br /> comment, and information can be found on the MWD website regarding drinking water standards. <br />
