He added that this is a new model <br /> and the first of its kind in our area. <br /> Mr. Lehrer stated that he felt we were on"the cusp and precipice of a massive opportunity." <br /> He urged staff, colleagues,the Board and Mashpee Commons to keep in mind the light of <br /> collaboration and that we all have a similar end goal which is to develop something for the <br /> betterment of the future generations of this town and the region. We should avoid accusations <br /> and inflammatory language and work towards a product to be proud of. <br /> Mr. Lehrer closed by stating it is common and best practice to define smaller working groups to <br /> deliver proposals in preparation for delivery to the public and felt it was shortsighted not to <br /> proceed in this manner. <br /> Mr. Phelan inquired of Attorney Cox a date for the next meeting in keeping with the Open <br /> Meeting Law. <br /> Mr. Lehrer said he would like the Board to consider when and how often meetings would occur <br /> as well as what would be discussed with appropriate staff. <br /> Attorney Cox responded that she would communicate through the Town Planner and report back <br /> to the Chair shortly. <br /> Mr. Phelan thanked the Mashpee Commons team for their presentation. <br /> CHAIRMAN'S REPORT <br /> No report <br /> TOWN PLANNER REPORT <br /> Consulting Engineer Update <br /> The Town Manager and the new Consulting Engineer, Ed Pesce have signed the contract. Mr. <br /> Lehrer met with Mr. Pesce and Charles Rowley, the former Consulting Engineer in his office to <br /> review current projects and update on inspections. Mr. Pesce is currently meeting with <br /> contractors and project managers and forging new relationships. Mr. Lehrer hoped to formally <br /> introduce Mr. Pesce at the next board meeting. <br /> Local Comprehensive Plan RFP Update <br /> Mr. Lehrer reported that he received council's written comments on the RFP last Friday. He is <br /> amending the project timeline since the deadline was missed. The draft was approved with very <br /> minor edits. Mr. Lehrer is currently working with the DPW Director to post on Central Register <br /> and in CommBuys. <br /> Proposed amendments to Special Permit Regulations and Subdivision Rules and <br /> Regulations <br /> Mr. Lehrer shared a concept with the Board for amending the Planning Board's Special Permit <br /> Regulations and The Rules and Regulations Governing the Subdivision of Land. Specifically he <br /> proposes, along with the new consulting engineer, amending the schedule of fees to require, <br /> 7 <br />
