4 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> November 29, 2021 <br /> Discussion and Approval of Acceptance of the Following Resignation: Mashpee Cable and Advanced <br /> Technology Advisory Board MCAT): Daniel Riley -Member(Term Expires June 30, 2023): <br /> A letter of resignation was received from Daniel Riley dated November 8,2021 from the Mashpee <br /> Cable and Advanced Technology Advisory Board(MCAT). <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to accept the resignation of Daniel Riley from the <br /> Mashpee Cable and Advanced Technology Board sending a letter of appreciation to Mr. Riley <br /> for his service. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Sherman, yes Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes <br /> Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Opposed, none <br /> COMMUNICATIONS & CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Letters of Communication: <br /> Correspondence was received from Arnold and Sarah Chase of Mashpee Commons LP dated <br /> November 10, 2021 regarding matters associated to the development at Mashpee Commons. <br /> An additional letter of communication was received from Karen D. Faulkner, Ashers Path regarding <br /> the use of Innovative/Alternative (I/A) Septic Systems. <br /> Both letters are retained on file in the Office of the Town Manager/Select Board. <br /> LIAISON REPORTS <br /> Town Seal: The Town Seal presentation made at the last Select Board Meeting was presented in a <br /> professional manner. The design for the Town Seal represents the Town of Mashpee in a positive <br /> approach. Appreciation was given to the Town Seal Committee and to the design team for their <br /> endeavors. <br /> Schools: Mark Balestracci,the Mashpee High School principal is leaving his position and taking a <br /> new job in Fairhaven as Assistant Superintendent. It was agreed the Select Board would send a letter <br /> of appreciation to Mr. Balestracci for his dedication and years of service in the Town of Mashpee. <br /> JBCC Police Academy: Due to financial constraints it was noted the Police Academy on Joint Base <br /> Cape Cod is in need of additional finances to secure municipal police training. There is a vital need <br /> for a state-of-the-art facility for law enforcement for progressive training purposes. It was agreed this <br /> matter would be placed on the upcoming agenda of the Select Board for formal review. <br /> Special Events: The annual tree lighting ceremony at the Community Park is scheduled on Saturday <br /> at 5:00 p.m. <br />
