w:.
this report? Mr. Bent said they would. The Board agreed
that there was no reason to spend time on it because the
same questions will be raised on this subdivision Mr . Bent
did meet with Tom to begin to resolve some of those
questions .
Tina Cokanhower, geologist from Horsley, Witten, Megemann,
Inc. presented water quality study. She presented to
copies of report to the Board. She briefly reviewed results
of report: the northern portion of subdivision is located
within zone of contribution of proposed Mashpee well PI2 ,
the Western portion of property is located on the zone of
' F contribution of the Falmouth Fresh Pond well which is
""T
""-R
existing and 2 proposed wells. The report takes into
account 5 criteria: first they documented existing water
F quality, second they calculated existing nitrogen loading
within each zone, third they did a full build out analysis,
fourth they calculated what quantity of nitrogen would have
to be loaded to produce critical levels, and finally if
==` future loading exceeded permissible rates, calculated what
the allowable loading rates for future subdivisions in each
zone would be.
f
The report concluded that in Mashpee well P12. the existing
quality is very good present, the nitrogen contribution is
very low, there is very little development in zone, under
e' full build out nitrogen levels will remain well below
critical. levels.
Falmouth Fresh Pond well, under Mashpee criteria, water
ql
uality would exceed critical levels urldcz fu1l bu41d ou . .
Using the other criteria used, it would be just below
critical levels . Ms . Cokanhower strongly supports the
7 , alternative criteria because it is specific to Cape Cod and
r. most up to date . They recommend no mitigation be required.
' Tom mentioned that the report assumed the town land adjacnt
rs to the proposed subdivision would not be developed, however
recent plans are to build a Junior High School.
Tony would like to know what kinds of future activities
could happen that would bring it up to critical level 1 .e.
how many gallons per day.
F 7 T T + + .; - t.
f The Board tn4 n revieTed Charlie ' s comments . r1. :.a
' concerns were over some drainage areas . Plans show a
` presence of clay in three locations and just
subdivision there is an area of wetland and directly across
} from it is shown as an area for drainage. He is concerned
there is not enough depth. Most other concerns were
housekeeping items . He is also concerned with grading of
roads outside of subdivision would like to see road
U profiles
7
