w ,
Tony stated that the key concern of the Board is the futxre
use of Turner Road by this subdivision and the adjacent one
is and vehicle impact (amount of traffic) on old Barnstable Rd
and eventually Rte . 151. He asked that research be done to
discover if the easement through Charles River East used to
create Canvasback Lane is included in open space
l calculations.
Judy commented that the Board usually would like to see open
space that is useable by community and questioned the need
for Scudder Lane.
Louise was very concerned about the adequacy of the present
roads to handle any more traffic in a safe fashion.
5 Tony would like to see the possibility that a school will be
built factored into the traffic study.
rC:
r.:.J
^' Public Questions and Comments:
Jerry DePalmer, lives on Bogg River Band. He stated that
z the previous traffic study reported that the width of old
Barnstable Road meets requirements . After that meeting he
r: measured 12 of the narrowest sections of the road and 9
were too narrow. Each morning it takes him 3 1/2 minutes ,
after coming to a full stop, to get onto Rte 151 from old
Barnstable (gridlock) and this is with very little traffic
4- in the winter and the Charles River East development is not
`s yet fully occupied. He told the Board that the residents
. .r of Charles River must maintain the roads after development
is 55% full and he will not plow roads for 125 houses of
another development behind him.
nA
i•1
rx1 Mr. Perry, lives on the corner of Leather Leaf and old
Barnstable Rd. He told the Board that he was not allowed
=4 direct access from his home on to old Barnstable Rd. It is
a very blind corner and they had to give an easement for lot
10 on back of their property for lot lo 's driveway.
Diane Thompson, lives in lot to. They were told by
Patterborn that the Planning Board would not allow driveways
`Yz$, onto Cold Barnstable Rd and even though she lives on Old
Barnstable Rd she must use backya;d of the Perrin' s for h:•
driveway.
i•
Debbie Perry is very concerned about how dangerous the read
is already with just a few houses •
:.i Nan Garret Logan, 676 old Barnstable Rd. Questioned the
access for utilities, power lines, water lines, sewer, gas,
what access will they have?
The Board asked the applicant to research this issue .
8 .
