several Planning Board Members attempted to explain <br /> the speakers comments were incor ect, stating the purpose <br /> of the Public Hearing is to gather information in order to <br /> craft, or not, a document for DCP . <br /> Evano Cunha, 15 Chippers Lane - stated he is in favor <br /> f a DCPC. He read comments regarding development: Cape <br /> Cod Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Division, "If <br /> we are to improve our visitor industry and expand our <br /> economic base, we- must always e' cognizant of the limited <br /> resources of this peninsula". Conserving Lard for People, <br /> "The health of our waters is the principal measure of how <br /> we live on t-he land". He made reference to a Barnstable <br /> County publication entitled, "Enhancing Wastewater <br /> Management on Cape Cod - Planning, Administrattive, and <br /> Legal Tools" . He stated he feels a DCPC would be the <br /> e,ginning of a planning process . <br /> Joan Muese, 19 East Way - Addressed the issue o <br /> traffic, stating the matter needs to be addressed at a <br /> different level as there are many neighboring towns <br /> contributing to sashpee/rotary traffic) . she mentioned the <br /> building cap, the -number of building permits- allowed per <br /> month and the fact that there is no affordable land left to <br /> develop in effect there is a moratorium building cap) . <br /> She suggested 40B would have a greater impact than <br /> individual single-f mily lots. she does not support a <br /> moratorium at this time. <br /> Ruth Maney,, 4-0 Highwood Way - Inquired if it would be <br /> possible for the Town to purchase the - a hpee Place land, <br /> as well as the land located on Route 151 purchased by <br /> has . <br /> Lynn Pandiani-Norton, Mashpee Resident - Explained she <br /> has resided in I ashpee for more than ten years. However, <br /> she has recently been forced to move to Wareham for <br /> financial reasons. she spoke to those families who survive <br /> on less than $50, 0 0 . 00 per year. She has raised her <br /> children in Mashpee and currently decorates those new <br /> houses being constructed. Although she does not support <br /> moratorium, she would life to know that people life her ca.n <br /> afford to lure in Mashpee. She would life to return to <br /> iashpee, however she cannot afford to pay the rental and <br /> mortgage f ees. <br /> 7 <br />
