As well as the fact that Lowell <br /> Road is narrow. <br /> Mr. Marsters volunteered to work n said geometry <br /> issues of concern at the intersection at Lowell Road and <br /> return to the Board for further consideration. He also <br /> offered- to work with Mr. Morris . <br /> Public Hearing <br /> Pre-Disaster Hazard Mitigation Plan <br /> The Assistant Town Planner introduced the Town of <br /> Iashpee Pre-Disaster Hazard Mitigation Plan, which has <br /> received a preliminary approval by FEMA subject to Town <br /> approval . <br /> This plan is required to be in place as of November 1, <br /> 2004, by the Federal Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 . This <br /> plan will qualify for future post-disaster grant funding <br /> under the FEMA Hazard. Mitigation Grant Program; as well a <br /> other available grant funding programs for hazard <br /> mitigation funding. <br /> Hazard Mitigation - Any actions taken to reduce or <br /> eliminate long term risk to properties from natural hazards <br /> including flooding, storms, hurricanes, and earthquakes . <br /> Four Components of Emergency Operations for a <br /> Management Plan - Mitigation, Preparedness, Response and <br /> Recovery. <br /> Process - Identification of hazard, risk assessment, <br /> vulnerability analysis, strategy/action plans, and plan <br /> approval., adoption, and implementation. <br /> Plans are also being prepared at the regional and <br /> county levels . <br />
