The Town Plann' e't -clarified it is a private road, the
Town is not responsible for maintenance, the only thing the
Town is allowed to do is plow if the road is deemed to be
in good condition by the DPW Director.
Mr. Aucoin stated the owner of the lot would be
responsible for road -maintenance.
The Chairman recognized Randy Peters who commented his
mother owns property at this location and he feels she will
be most impacted. He expressed concern regarding drainage
issues, the fire hydrant, preservation of the existing
telephone pole, and road maintenance. He requested an
easement document from the Applicant. in writing in -order
to prevent any future access issues.
Mr. Peters stated quite clearly that his main concern
is the prevention of any drainage/water issues connected
with road construction.
The Chairman assured the speaker that the consulting
Engineer would approve any and all drainage plans, -as well
as road/intersection plans .
The Town Planner suggested the DPW Director be
provided an opportunity to review the plans . If he
determines the road conditions to be satisfactory he will
plow the road, he is not responsible for any road
maintenance.
The Chairman recognized Mr. Cadigan who reiterated his
primary concern is safety issues, that the existing road
will not run fr ' cotuit to route 130.
Mr. Peters echoed the previous speaker' s concern, he
does not want to see the road run through and also, that
the condition of the road meets the standards .
The Consulting Engineer suggested the approval be
conditioned by the Board that the road would not be
constructed or extended -beyond what is shown on the plan.
The road in its present construction is only to service Lot
3A.
The Town Planner agreed this language should b
incorporated into the plan.
10
