Public Hearing <br /> DCPC <br /> The appointed hour having arrived the Chairman read <br /> the Public Hearing Notice into the Record and called the <br /> Public Hearing in this matter to order. <br /> The Chairman explained this would be the final Hearing <br /> on the matter of the proposed DCPC. She stated that all <br /> comments and input were welcome and would be considered b <br /> the Board prior to submission of the final nomination <br /> document to the Cape Cod Commission. <br /> The Chairman identified the following speakers: <br /> Robert Taylor - Informed the Board he did not wish to <br /> speak, that he was present to listen to the discussion. <br /> Ross Paasehe - Spore to the development of the Town <br /> stating the citizens feel they have lost control of its <br /> destiny. He urged the Planning Board to support any <br /> implementation of a DCPC in order to better control the <br /> pace of future development for everyone' s benefit (citizen <br /> duality of life, Town resources, and industry) . <br /> Maxine Wolfset - Commented her strong support for a <br /> DCPC and all efforts to protect precious Cape Cod <br /> waterways . <br /> Edward Barer -- Spoke as a citizen of Mashpee as well <br /> as President of Mashpee Environmental Coalition. He <br /> informed the Board that the Board of Directors of the <br /> Coalition has voted to unanimously support the DCPC. He <br /> made mention of Santuit Pond being on the Federal Impaired <br /> Waters list, status of MashpeeWaeby Pond conditions, and <br /> impaired coastal waterways, as well as damages caused by <br /> various plumes from junkyards, military preservation, and <br /> the Augat Manufacturing Plant. <br /> Mr. Baker presented a letter from the Coalition to the <br /> Cape Cod Commis-s-ion, attention Margo Finn, noting support <br /> for a DCPC approval. Said letter also expressed Coalition <br /> desire to assist the Planning Board in this regard in order <br /> to protect the Town' s future water resources . <br /> 7 <br />
