Nix. Rowley yle stated that Gene Smith completed a section of roadway on Fox Hill
beyond Candlewood. A small section of Candlewood, around the corner, has also been
completed. There remains approximately a I oo-foot section in the wooded area along
Candlewood that has not been completed. At one point Roy Fagerberg had indicated that
he would complete the work, however he never submitted prices for the cost of
completion. An arrangement.has been made regarding the work that was needed, but
nothing ever carve ofi t.
The Chairman clarified that there are eight remaining lots, asking how best
and most fairly the costs for completion Should be calculated.
After some discussion, Mr. Rowley vley suggested that Candlewood be cleaned up,
which would complete that road even through it is located some distance away from the
lot under discussion, and would result in a continuation ofpaved roads. And, it is a smart idea because
that would have all of Candlewood finished paved."
Nix. Rowley suggested, due to growth along the side of the roadway, that the
edges be pulled back,.the old base removed in order to make sure there is adequate gravel
underneath, replace the gravel, and provide new pavement. There may be one or two
concrete bounds already set to finish the projects there is no drainage in this section of
roadway.
The Chairman suggested the Applicant obtain a price for the construction and
completion of this section of roadway.
Mr. Rowley suggested Applicant hire a contractor with knowledge of road
construction. He also suggested that if he or the Planning Department has a copy of the
original letter of requirements, it be submitted as a guide to calculating costs. The
Planning Board would require cost calculations-to be presented to them on contractor
letterhead for approval.
The Town Planner unformed Applicant that the Town would require security of
1 0%of said contractor costs in order to obtain a building permit. Applicant has the
choice of either completing the roadway prior to obtaining a building permit; or provide a
