a
Consideration has been given to updating and reprising the Survey that was
prepared in 1992. He has been working with Tom Mayo in this regard and they intend to
compile a new sunrey while incorporating some ofthe previous survey as well. Public
input is an important factor when determining build-out for the Torn, which is
requirement of the Cape Cock Commission.
There are approximately 11 oo-acres remaining as undeveloped land. Mr. Newton
remarked that the Town has done are excellent job buying, acquiring, and protecting open
space.
The Board agreed to review the report and draft survey document for discussion
at a later date.
October Town Meeting Articles—Town Tarrant
The Torn Manner informed the Board that the proposed general bylaw regarding
l ighting and-sand w[ch sign Artieles have been removed from the Tarrant based on the
fact that there is a Sign Review Committee.
Two Articles have been added to the Warrant with reference to Energy Facilities
and Green Co-mmunity as they provide a benefit to the Town.
Tom Mayo a plained the criteria needed in order to-meet the Green Community
standard. There are monies in the amount of$]o million which-is divided by the total
number of Green Communities state- grid every year: By light Bylaws for renewable
energy; expedite permitting; base-line of town energy use; purchase-only fuel efficient
vehicle-policy; and adoption of the new Massachusetts Energy Stretch Code to the
Building Code.
MOTION- John Cotton.made-a Motion to submit a letter to the Board of
Selectmen encouraging participation in the Green Communities Program; which Motion
was duly seconded by Dennis Balzarini and so voted unanimously.
The board authorized Torn May to prepare and submit said letter o
encouragement.
Regional Policy Plan and Vision Map
Dennis l al arini expressed his uncertainty with adopting a Vision Map for the
Town. He feels that if a Vision Map is adopted, the Mashpee Commons mitigation
would be reduced by half: He feels there are no real benefits-to the Town as there is very
little development opportunities other than the Ma hpee Commons project. H feels the
Planning Board.should deny approval of a Vision Map for the To vvn.
Mary Waygan expressed her agreement. stating she feels Mashpee zoning addresses all
of the development issues and that this process, a Land Use Vision Map; is not necessary
