gain access to the golf course in order to provide ongoing maintenanceto the Ocean
Course. Not one of these vehicles went the speed limit or less. Instead, many were
witnessed to be traveling, on average, between 25-35 miles an hour with one even
appearing to be traveling at an even greater speed. As a father of four children ages 2-9
this road change is of great concern to me. Our yard slopes down to the road and if the
proposed change.in the road were to be enacted the new road could put lives in danger.
Vendors passing through the neighborhood, many without prior knowledge of'the
environment and most without the vestal interest of the inhabitants,,could pose a
significant threat to children. If vendors are not going to even remotely adhere to current
speed regulations, changing the layout to a more dangerous road with a significant curve
is only going to-enhance the chance of a potential serious accident. It is my hope that the
potential lives of children are not put at risk just so that the New Sebury Properties can
rearrange a road to realize greater profits. In the short.tire my wife and I have owned
our house at 123 Shore Drive west we have been very pleased with the way we have
been treated by various representative of New Seabury Properties. That makes it harder
to understand why New Sebury Properties would propose the changes without prior
consultation with the residents of Seaside, especially when so much is at stake for so
many reasons. Please take this letter to heart since allowing these changes to take place
potentially puts so many young children at risk.''
Joe Padul , 123 Shore Drive Test—Made reference to the original plot plan, lot
#1591. He stated that he purchased his home in April, 2007 from Bayswater
Development who crude representations regarding how Seaside would be configured in
terms of a development plan, as well as hover Shore Drive, the road itself as it currently
exists, and the Future layout. It-now appears that Bayswater Development plans to
materially change both the configuration of Seaside and to significantly change the
configuration of the road, which he feels will result in a detriment to his property. He
questioned the timing of the concept work and of possibly being misrepresented in terms
of the facts.
Mr. Pedula feels-it is especially unfair that the residents have not been consulted
in any way about the development plans until such time as notice was received from the
Planning Board.
Reference was made to the actual presentation booklet provided by Bayswater
Development entitled, `Seaside Presentation Handbook—New Seabury on Cape Cod"
which contains the actual Seaside Development Plan as well as the roadway.
In conclusion Mr. P dula requested the Planning Board protect the rights of the
residents.
The Chairman recognized the previous speakers concerns and comments,
explaining however that the Planning Board is a Regulatory Board which does not have
the authority to address -some of those issues raised, but are always interested in safety
concerns.
