N
r.i
4
n
i
I 1
Mr.Dunn went over the 151000 gallon septic tank, the 6,500 gallon septic tank, and the two
Systems which help with the denitrification process, He stated that the sewerage is actually
being treated two times for the denitrification. He also reviewed the 1,0IDO gallon equalization I
tank which slows down the flow prior +prio to the discharge. He also pointed.out another tank
which helps out with denitrification. He noted a 1,500 gallon settling tank which is where '
the sludge/waste would be settling in for the facility to be able to clean it up along with the ' !
chamber which actually releases the treated sewerage into the septic system.
Mr.Dunn stated that the proposed plan is actually above and beyond what is for this
use.
He added that they have been before the Board of Health and the Board of Health has ' w
reviewed the design and has agreed that they are doing above and beyond what is required.,
Mr.Dunn stated that one of the things that helps out with the denitrification process is that
they are using the best management practice in that they are using the grass to treat the water
that is m the 1 so they are not letting the water o directly $
l'g ey g g ectry into the groundwater
before it is treated. Ow
Mr.Dunn stated that they are required by Title V to make sure that they are less than 5 parts
per million for the rate of the sewerage going into the system. By using this kind of a system,
they have brought it down to 2-1/2 parts per million prior to its discharge.
There was questions from Mr.Fudala and the Planning Board Members on whether they can _ !
get a detailed plan of how the system works.
Mr.Butler stated that they can submit to the Board a narrative description of how the system
zA
works. Mr.Butler added that they will be meeting with the Cape Cod Commission water
Quality staff to confirm that the requirements under the Development Agreement that deal i
with these same issues
are being met.
T.
Mr.Dunn stated that they will provide a profiletschematic of the septic system with.a V
narrative explaining what is actually happening with each system. Lit
Beverly Kane questioned whether this type of system was being used elsewhere by other
organizations. Mr.Dunn stated, that he designed one for the Burger King in Bridgewater and
he cited other organizations that are using this type of system.
Martine Meijering read a letter to the Planning Board from the Cape Cod Commission t`.
regarding the proposed.building. The letter stated that the Cape Cod Commission is writing J
this letter to provide the PI Board with guidance regarding performance with the
Mashpee Industrial Park Development Agreement. Based on the review of the Development
Agreement and the proposed project,it is the Commission's opinion that there are issues
which need to be resolved prior to issuance of either a building permit or a certificate of
occupancy, but which do not affect the applicant's request for a Special Permit from the
Planning Board. The letter was signed by Andrea Adams,Planner,Hazardous waste
"• .,
Specialist.
Mr.Butler stated that the way he would sum up their request and their ability to meet the
criteria for the Board to consider the issuance of a Special Permit with conditions as
appropriate is that all the various criteria that are set forth in the section of the Zoning By-
Law dealing with the criteria for the Special Permit set forth the need for the applicant to
prove that the proposed project will not adversely or significantly impact in a negative way all
the various town resources listed in that section. It includes discussions about traffic, wildlife
f
