Engineers have also located roadways, buildings, parking paths, ponds, tennis courts, amenity centers, and clubhouses in the field. Attorney Dunning expressed his appreciation for Board consideration regarding the issuance of occupancy permits . He also expressed his desire to cooperate with the Board in good faith in -order to address all issues and concerns, a did Mr. Bonie.. Dennis Bal arini mentioned resident concern regarding the -retaining wall/lacy of barrier, suggesting the- Developer address this safety issue. It was agreed the consulting Engineer should be contacted for suggestions in this regard. It was also determined that the wall was constructed in violation, as it does not appear -on the approved plans . The chairman clarified the safety issue should b addressed .immediately. However, the illegal structure may have to be modified. The Hoard has never granted approval of construction of said retaining wall . There being no -further Board discussion the chairman opened the floor to Public comment, recognizing the following speaker Linda Fletcher - Expressed her gratitude to the Board for their diligence and efforts in thi matter. she stated Southport residents have aE vest,ed interest in living in a safe community, as well as protecting their investments . She stated she and 'Others feel Southport is "the greatest place in the world' and has a lot to offer. They have all contributed a great deal of t-ime, effort, and energy to the project . She thanked Attorney Dunning and Mr. Bone, expressing her dope that everyone will be able to cooperate and work with one another in an attempt to move the project forward.
