Special Permit
Cape Southport Associates, LLC
Southport Retirement Community
Discussion - Design of Clubside Court
The Cha-irman called this matter to order and
recognized Ron Bonvie.
(Assoeiat,e Member, Harvey Cohen, reoused himself from
any discussion of this matter, and left the table in order
to avoid an, possible conflict of interest as he is a
resident of Southport. )
Mr. Bonvie informed the Board that there is a
Landscape Plan that has been reviewed and approved- by the
Landscape Committee. An arborit has been hired, made an
inspection of the trees on the property, and has met with
t' e Landscape Committee .
'Mr. Bonvie provided copies of a memorandum dated April
, 2006 and Southport Tree Assessment., by Casey Landscape
Arboriculture, Inc.
Making reference to the .plan, Mr. Bonvie noted certain
trees circled in red, which indicate these trees of concern
by Board Members Dennis B lzarini and Myrna Nuey. The
arborist has also made an inspection and written a report
on those trees of concern.
r. Bonvie made reference to the removal of the 6-
inch caliper tree, as suggested by the a=rborst . He also
mentioned the arborist is concerned about the 1 -inch
caliper tree that should be monitored during construction
to determine whether or not it will surviLve.
Mr. Bonvie stated everything would be sacred with the
exception of the 3 6-inch tree. He stated he would like to
follow the arborist recommendations, and that the Landscape
Committee is in agreement .
The Town Planner asked about specifications for the
fencing, particularly in connection with the white pine
trees. He asked if the arborist would be providing at plan
that the Planning Board would be able to use for
enforcement purposes.
