Richard Joyal,Mashpee Cellular Antenna Site Page 2 of 2 <br /> April 11, 2002 <br /> Existing Sound Levels <br /> Background sound levels at the south property line of the site were monitored for a period of <br /> 24 hours in one-hour intervals using a Larson-Davis model 700 environmental noise monitor. <br /> The measurement period began at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday,April 10, 2002. The monitor was <br /> outfitted with a %2"microphone and windscreen and conforms to ANSI S 1.4 standards for type 2 <br /> sound measurement instrumentation. The measured L.d„ during this 24-hour period was 52 dB. <br /> The measured data are presented in Figure 1. <br /> New Equipment <br /> The only noise producing equipment associated with this installation is the base transmitter <br /> station (BTS) cabinet. The BTS cabinet for this installation will be located within an existing <br /> warehouse. We have based our calculations on the loudest installed BTS cabinet that we have <br /> measured. We expect that the maximum sound pressure level from the BTS cabinet will be less <br /> than 20 dBA at the nearest property line. This is as low as the lowest sound level measured at <br /> the site, and we do not expect that this equipment will be audible at any location outside of the <br /> site. The Ld„will be unaffected by the new equipment, and will remain 52 dB. <br /> The nearest residential receptors will be in a new housing development, approximately 850 feet <br /> to the south of the site. We do not expect that this installation will have any noise impact on <br /> these residents. <br /> Summary <br /> The proposed equipment will produce a maximum property line sound level less than 20 dBA. <br /> This will comply with the Cape Cod Commission property line noise level limit of 50 dBA for <br /> wireless communication facilities. The existing measured Ld„was 52 dB during our <br /> measurement period.
