PINEBROOK CONSULTING
July 1,2001
David.and Kirsten Reilly
123B Warren Avenue
Plymouth, Massachusetts 02360
RE: LETTER/REPORT for Wetland Evaluation/Delineation
on Property (Lot 1 and 2), Off Melissa Avenue,Mashpee, Massachusetts
Dear David and Kirsten:
On June 22, 2001, I investigated the above-referenced property(hereinafter referred to as
the site) for the presence of wetland resource areas as defined under the Massachusetts
Wetlands Protection Act(M.G.L. Chapter 131, Section 40)and the associated
regulations, 310 CMR 10.00 (the Regulations). The following Lettef/Report provides a
description of my findings.
The site, which•consists of a total of approximately 0.7 acres, is located on the westerly
side of a right-of-way which extends from the end of Melissa Avenue in-Mashpee,, -
Massachusetts: 'The property is comprised of two Lots; Lot 1 which presently supports
single family dwelling;.and Lot'2 which is wooded, undeveloped land. The siteisabutted
by residential propertiesto the north and south; the right-0f--way and residential property
to the east; and Mashpee Pond (the Pond) to the west. The two parcels'are-fairly flat;
however, are:eledated approximately 50-100 feet above the Pond. The steep slope to the
Pond is densely vegetated with shrubs and grasses. A wooden stairway and small dock
extend from the top of Lot 1 into the pond, respectively. -
Under Section 10.56 of the Regulations, Mashpee Pond is defined as resource area land
under"a waterbody/waterway(LUWW). The pond is encompassed by a low, flat
bankibeach defined under Section 10.54 of the Regulations as resource area bank. The
bank, which is composed of sand/sediment,represents the furthest extent of the resource
areas, occurring between the waterbody and the upland slope. The water edge of the
beachibank is vegetated primarily with blue flag iris(Iris versicolor), marestail (Hippuris
vulgaris)and water-willow(Justicia, spp.). The upper edge of the beach/bank is -
310 Sandwich Street • Plymouth, MA 02360 508-746-2386
