The Chairman then read into the record a letter received from Steven Doyle e <br /> Associates, 42 Canterbury Lane, East Falmouth, MA. "Regarding the Definitive <br /> Subdivision Plan for 48 flue Castle Drive, please allow a continuance of the Public <br /> Hearing until May 7, 2008, for the Definitive Subdivision at 8 Blue Castle Drive. <br /> Sincerely, StevenDoyle." <br /> MOTION: Dennis l al arini made a Motion to continue the Public Hearing in <br /> this natter to May 7, 2008, at 7:05 p.m.; which Motion was duly seconded by-Thomas <br /> O'Hara and so voted unanimously. <br /> Public Hearing <br /> C. Talanian Realty Co., Inc. <br /> Modification of the Special Permit to allow Retail Cottages <br /> The appointed Hour having arrived the Chairman read the Public Hearing notice <br /> into the record and called the Public l;Tearing to order. <br /> The Chairman recognized Don 1 legathlin, Talanian Realty. Mr. l iegathlin <br /> introduced Melinda gallant, who has suggested the proposed use of retail cottages. <br /> Mr. Ilegathlin Mated thi use has been anticipated since 1999, Planning Board <br /> approval was granted in 2001 and Cape Cod Comnn*ssion approval in 2000. The plan <br /> had always been to use some type of kiosks or carts on Joy Street in order to improve the <br /> atmosphere and to create a more-festive feeling. <br /> Melinda Gallant explained that Applicant is trying to work with artisans, <br /> craftsmen, and local entrepreneurs who are interested in retail sales. The proposed <br /> buildings would be designed and constructed locally, 6 x 8 ft. with double doors on the <br /> front with widows and a small overhang that could be locked up at night. The tirneframe <br /> would be from Memorial Day through Columbus Day. The buildings could also be used <br /> during the Holiday Season in various wags. <br /> References were made to a plan of land entitled, '"South Cape Village— Leasing <br /> Site Plan Detail Shed Layout, dated 03/25/08 revised o 11 o , by Prell Witychilinski <br /> Associates, Inc., for Talanian Realty Co., Inc." She indicated the proposed locations o <br /> the proposed retail cottages for Joy Street . <br /> Dennis Balzarini asked about public restrooms. Ms. Gallant stated that at present <br /> there are none,however, they will be constructed soon for customer use (Building F l). <br /> In the meanwhile, the vendors would be allowed to use the private restrooms on site. <br /> Ms. Gallant stated the Board of Health will not allow food to be prepared served <br /> from the retail cottages. She also informed the Board that the buildings would be stored <br /> off site at the end of the season. Electricity will be generated.from on site (less than 20 <br /> amps) as well as capacity for computer use. There will be no sign age of any kind. <br /> 2 <br />
