•
Joyce Mason, Town Manager, relative to the Land Use Vision Map, which letter
the Chairman read into the record: `The Board of Selectmen respectfully requests that
the Planning Board delay moving forward to the Cape Cod Commission, Mashpee's
Land Use elision Map. This would allow for further discussion and participation from
various boards, committees, and citizens. Thank you.for your consideration of this very
important matter."
The Chairman then read into the record an e-mail communication received from
Sharon Rooney, Cape Cod Commission—I wanted to follow up on last night's meeting
between the Selectmen and the Planning Board on the Land Use Vision Map. First, I
double checked the Cape Cod Commission website and in response to Tom's question,
Mashpee's reap is not in the final draft RPP that was sent to,the Assembly. The only
place Mashpee's map appears is in the May /October 30 red-lined comparison version
and the bar on the left side of the map page indicates that this neap.was deleted. Also, the-
map shown on the Cape Cod Commission website with the final draft RPP do not include
1 lashpee. In terns of moving forward with the Town's Vision Map, perhaps the
Plying Board could h6st another public mapping forum after the holidays at a
convenient time for the.board of Selectmen and the E IC. I am hopeful that after more
discussion the two boards will be able to come up with a mutually acceptable map. Staff
could provide an overview of the wrapping project at the outset of the meeting and be
available to answer-any-questions from Board Members or the public. Let me know hover
you would like to proceed."
Deference was also made to an e-mail communication received from Isar
waygan, Planning Board Associate Member, who apologized for not being able to attend
the meeting, and agreeing to the Planning Board conducting one more public hearing on
the land use matter. '`I am agreeable to the Planning Board hold one more public hearing,
one more only on the land use matter. There is finally interest in the matter and feel it is
in the public interest to accept public comment and address comments formally. It the
Planning Board dues decide to hold another public meeting I recommend we send the
public hearing notice directly to the Board of Selectmen, Town Administrator,
Conservation Commission, Economic Development, Mousing Committee, etc. I do not
feel that we need to have a series-of workshops on the matter. If the Comnussion wants
to hold an educational workshop on the process in.Ma hpee, great, but not during a
public hearing."
Discussion
RPP Land Use Vision Map
Amer some discussion regarding mitigation issues, as well as regulatory-issues,
the follovaffig motion was made in this regard.
MOTION:: Dennis l al arini made a Motion to authorize the Chairman to respond
to the Town Manager's later informing her of the Planning Board decision to postpone
any further votes in this matter until after the holidays; which Notion was.duly seconded
by Thomas O'Hara and so voted unanimously,
6
